Halloween Night

Elijah and Ethan came over with Pop to go Trick - or - Treating with Braden. The boys had an absolute BLAST! They ran around the neighborhood like wild things getting all the candy that they could. Braden made a killing. Ok, I know Braden doesn't look like Drew Carey anymore. He decided this evening that he didn't want to be Drew Carey because Drew Carey doesn't have a light saber. (Elijah and Ethan were Star Wars characters and they had light sabers so Braden wanted one too). First he was going to be Optimus Prime w/ a light saber, but then he wouldn't wear the mask, then I had him agree to be Captain Jack Sparrow w/ a light saber. Yay!!!!! (I've had the costume for a couple of years, thank you after Halloween sales at Target.)
Elijah was a Clone Trooper, Ethan was Darth Vader, and Braden Space Age Captain Jack Sparrow. The boys had fun with Pop and I, while Logan stayed at home with Dada handing out candy and watching the UT football game.

The Shriner's Circus

Sunday afternoon Pop treated all of us to tickets to the Shriner's Circus. I haven't been to the circus is a very long time, so it was interesting to see what all the fuss was about. Braden, Elijah, and Ethan loved it! Pop let them chose one animal to ride before the circus started. Elijah and Ethan rode the elephant and Braden rode a pony. I was very surprised that Braden wanted to ride a pony because at a birthday party the summer they had pony rides and he wouldn't even go near the pony let alone ride it. Oh well, kids change with time. Everyone had a nice time, even Logan. Logan enjoyed watching all the people and all the lights. He slept through the first part, but woke up in time for the second half.
During the Tiger act, Ethan looked over at Pop and asked him if he could ride one on the tiger's after the circus. Um . . . I don't think they'd let him do that. The boys enjoyed cotton candy, watching the clowns, acrobats, and the motorcycles on the tight ropes. I think their favorite parts were riding the animals, watching the guy get shot out of the cannon, and when Pop bought all 3 of them light up swords (light sabers). Pop better save his money. Next year there will be 4 boys to enjoy everything and ride the animals.

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

Breast Cancer has hit not only our family, but our Moms & Tots family as well. Mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer back in Sept. 2002 and then just over the summer one of our moms and good friend Summer Babis was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Mom is doing well and has been cancer free for 6 1/2 yrs now. Summer is doing well with her kemo treatments and is getting better every day. She was unable to do the cancer walk with us this year, but next year she will join us. We had 7 of us walk in honor of her. I also walked in honor of my mom and Karen walked in memory of her mom. It was a cold, wet day, but we didn't care. It was a nice morning to be out and kick some cancer butt!

Boo At The Zoo

Every year the Knoxville Zoo has an event where the kids can dress up in costumes, walk around the zoo and collect candy. We didn't go last year, but on Friday we ventured out and walked the zoo. Braden had so much fun counting the booths and Logan just loved the ride in the stroller and looking around.
Logan wore Braden's penguin costume that I bought years ago, but it was way too big for Braden to wear for his first Halloween. Braden dressed up as, can you guess? He is Drew Carey the host of the Price is Right. Next year Logan will have more fun, because he will actually get to eat his candy. Right now it is all Momma's and Dada's!!

St. Joseph's Fall Festival (Oct. 17, 2009)

St. Joseph Catholic School has a fall festival every year and it is a lot of fun! Since they are building a new gym at the school and there wasn't any room on site there St. Albert the Great out in Halls hosted the event for the school. Since Braden is going to the school now and I am co-head room mom, I had to work our Caterpillar booth for a while in the morning. It was a very cold day and the boys were freezing. Travis had to work, so Grandma (Travis' mom) came with us to help me out. Pop came shortly after we got there with Ethan, Elijah didn't want to come so Nay-Nay stayed home with him.
Anyway, the boys had a blast! There were camel rides (Braden refused to ride one, but Ethan loved it), Bounce Houses galore, kettle corn, games, cotton candy, and tons of other fun things to do and eat. Braden won a cake, played ski-ball way too many times, and both boys had the opportunity to sit in a police helicopter. Braden was very upset when he couldn't go for a ride in the helicopter. They really enjoyed themselves. Logan passed out within an hour of being there. He'll have more fun next year.

5 months . . . already!?

Today our little man is 5 months old. Wow, how time flies by. Logan is quite the little ham and LOVES to be talked to and played with. Anything and everything that his big brother Braden does is so funny to him. Logan is turning over (and over, and over), eating cereal (3 Tbsp w/ formula mixed in), and playing with tons of new (to him, they are all Braden's old ones with a few new ones mixed in) toys.

Over the weekend Travis and I packed up the bassinet in our room (it's being shipped off to a friend's for a while) and moved Logan upstairs. He is doing well sleeping in his big boy crib. I just cannot believe how fast time has gone by. Before I know it both of my little boys will be driving cars, talking to girls, and going off to college. But for now I am enjoying every minute that I have with my two crazy little guys.
