First Bite of Cereal

Well, Logan is now 4 months old and that means . . . cereal!!! He absolutely LOVES it! He talks the entire time he is eating it is too funny. He is so ready for "real" food!

Infomercial Mania!!!

For a while now Braden has been very interested in some infomercials. All he wanted for his 4th birthday was a Snuggie and a Touch 'n' Brush. Well, Nay - Nay bought him a Snuggie for his birthday and to this day he still sleeps with it. (That was a month ago, he loves it!) Nay- Nay tried to find the Touch 'n' Brush for his birthday as well, but we had very little luck in finding one.
Well, today Nay- Nay and I ventured out to an "As Seen On TV Store" in West Knoxville and guess what we found. A Touch 'n' Brush!!!!! We came home and gave it to Braden. He was so excited. He had Dada put it up right away and he just had to brush his teeth. In fact we had to almost take it off the mirror in his bathroom because he kept wanting to brush his teeth over and over. He was just so excited about it! At least we know his mouth is nice and clean!!

Logan's 4 month check-up

Today Travis and I took Logan to see Doctor Roberts for his 4 month check-up. He did a great job. They weighed him, measured him, gave him shots, and even pricked his little finger. Poor baby! He wailed when he got his shots, but when they pricked his finger he just looked at the nurse like he was saying "what was that for?". Logan weighs 13 lbs 7 oz (22%), he is 24.75 inches long (44%), and his head circumference is 40.75 cm (16%).
Logan is now able to start eating rice cereal. I know he is going to love this because whenever we are eating his eyes follow the food from the plate to our mouths. He is so ready to get something other than milk from Momma. He is growing so fast!! He loves watching his big brother Braden do everything. He laughs all the time at everything and is grabbing things too. His favorite thing to chew on are his fingers. He is such a funny baby and a joy to be around.
Here is his monthly picture with George. He's bigger than George now too!!!

Braden, Momma, and a Movie

Since Logan has been born any outing that comes up and isn't Logan "ready" Travis and Braden have been going themselves. Today was different!!! I got to go to a movie!!!! I haven't been to the movie theater since I was pregnant with Logan and it was to see "Bolt" in the dollar theater.
Today, being Labor day, everyone in the world was out doing things. Chick-Fil-A was packed with people in their sport team shirts getting their free sandwich (yes we did that) and the movie theaters were packed as well. Nay-Nay and Pop wanted to take Elijah and Ethan to a movie, but they wouldn't go unless Braden came too. So we left Travis and Logan at home and we were off to see a film. All of us have been curious about the 2nd installment to the "Night at the Museum" movie. During the movie Braden looked at me and said . . .

"Momma, is this a big TV?"
"Yes"
"Then can you change the channel, please?"

I guess he was a little bored with the movie. It was pretty good, not as good as the first though.
The good thing was it was at the dollar theater, so no harm done. We did stay for the entire movie though with NO trips to the bathroom!

Braden's 4 year Check-up

Thursday, September 3, 2009 Braden went in for his 4 year check-up with Dr. Roberts. He doesn't mind going to the doctor that much, which is good. Since I had Logan with us the nurse took Braden to be weighed and measured while I stayed in the room with Logan. He was such a big boy! He weighs 34.6 lbs (37%) and is 40 1/2 inches tall (53%). When he came back into the room he was giggling because the nurse told him he had to take this little cup and pee into it. Apparently that was the most hilarious thing to him because he talked about it all day to everyone he saw. He was very proud of himself too after he did his duty. He then had his finger pricked so they could test his blood. No problem. He just watched the nurse do it and was amazed by the process. He was supposed to get 3 shots next year (when he turned 5) and then a flu shot this time, but they asked if we wanted to half them (2 now 2 later) and I said yes. Braden didn't have a problem at all with the shots. A different nurse came in (nurse Lou, she has been seeing Braden since he was born) to give him his shots. He laid down and gave me his hands and that was it. He just said "ow" with each shot. Then asked if it was over and while the nurse was putting the band aids on he started laughing. Nurse Lou told me she has never seen a 4 year old laugh after having shots given to them before. Because he was so good with his shots while we were waiting to see if he had a reaction to the shots or not (10 minutes) nurse Lou brought Braden in a Popsicle. He loved it!
