Week 33 here we are!

Today marks week number 33 in our journey to become a family of 4. The baby is doing well. He has a strong heart beat of 160 and he is moving all of the time. While I was pregnant with Braden during the last 2 months I really thought that he was going to just pop out of my stomach one day while I was sitting on the couch. Ever seen Alien, just like the one alien did to the guy in the diner scene. That's what I feel like again, sometimes. He isn't moving a much as Braden did, but he has time to catch up. I go for another doctor's visit in 2 weeks (April 15). They will do another ultrasound to check him out and all then.
I am starting to feel like a huge waddling penguin. Oh well, it's all worth it in the end, right?!

32 weeks!!

Today I had my 32 week check up on the baby. He is doing wonderfully and is growing at a good rate. He is about 4 lbs. now. The doctor told me that we can expect to see him (the baby) a week earlier than he is due. So that puts us at about May 12. I am excited to see him and very curious to know how Braden will do with a little brother.
Braden and Travis went with me today to my doctor's visit. Braden got to see his baby brother on the big ultrasound screen. He kept looking from the viewing tv to the monitor on their computer and back and forth. I'm not sure if he got the concept that what was on the tv monitor was in my belly or not, but he was very fascinated by the whole ordeal.

Braden's New Obsession

I found a pool table at mom's work that no one wanted and figured Braden would enjoy playing with it. Boy, was I right! We need to make some cues for it and we are missing one ball, but who cares! Braden is still having a blast. He watched Travis put it together and then took off for the balls and has been playing all afternoon. We are off to Home Depot to buy some dowels to make into pool cues this week so soon he will be playing like a pro I'm sure.

Movie Time!

Today we took Braden to the movies for the first time. We have been reluctant to do so in the past because of Braden's fear of darkness. It started when we took him to Universal Studios last summer. We went into the Shrek 3D movie thing and he freaked out before it even started. It was dark, it had a big screen, and everything else that to us resembled a movie theater so we just waited. Anyway, he loved it! Nay-Nay, Elijah, and Ethan went with us too. The three of them had already seen the movie, Bolt, but we hadn't and Elijah didn't care to see it again (and the fact that it only cost around $17 for the 6 of us plus popcorn and cokes helped too). Braden sat between Travis and I and just loved it. He ate his whole bag of popcorn all by himself. He sat in the seat like a good boy and . . . only had to go potty once during the movie (he is officially in big boy underwear). We are so proud of our little guy and it looks like we can use going to the movies as a reward for things to come. Maybe after baby brother arrives Braden and Dada can go see a movie together to celebrate him being so big. My little guy is growing up. What's next, . . . maybe riding his bike. Ooooh!!!!

Here we are again. It's week # 31 for me and baby. I have a doctor's appointment next Wed. 25 with another ultrasound. Things are good here. The baby is moving a good amount of the day. He loves to kick! Braden enjoys watching my stomach move, but is still a little weary about putting his hand on it. I had a green shirt on for St. Patty's Day, but it just didn't look right with the green wall behind me and you couldn't get a good idea on how "big" I had gotten.

Braden's New Pair of Glasses

About 1 yr ago we were told that Braden needed glasses to correct his strabismis (lazy eye). He has been doing great with them and actually likes wearing glasses now. He loves to read about Arthur the Ardvark who also wears glasses, I really think Arthur helped with the transition too. Anyway, last week Braden went back to the eye doctor for a check up and they told us that the prescription in his right eye needed to be a little stronger, which means . . . new glasses! We took him to find a new pair and today they were ready. He likes them a little bit and keeps telling me he isn't Braden anymore. I'm hoping he will soon forget that they are different from the old ones and just wear these without an argument. So far so good.

Our Big Boy

Braden has been working on potty training for about a month now full blast. He took a while to get going, but once he got the hang of it he has been all about peeing on the potty. He has been in big boy underwear for about 2 1/2 weeks now. We are so very proud of him. He hasn't had an accident at school (yet) and at home it's been maybe 1 accident a day, if that. To celebrate his new accomplishment Travis and I are taking him to Chuck - E Cheese's to play ski-ball this weekend. That's all he has been talking about (playing ski-ball). It's like bowling so of course he loves it.

30 weeks and counting

Well, here we are at the 30 week mark. My belly is getting bigger by the day and the baby is moving like crazy. He's already a little like his big brother. I swear sometimes he is doing back flips or playing soccer with my bladder, well at least that is what it feels like. I went for my doctor's appointment yesterday morning and the doctor said everything is going great. The baby's heartbeat is right on track and I'm looking good. My feet have started to swell a little bit and my legs feel like someone is pulling them in opposite directions, all normal. I can deal with normal. Also, the doctor felt around my pelvis area and told me that the baby is already starting to drop! How early were they talking when they said he would come early? Braden dropped early too and he was 4 days late! This kid better be early or on time.
Here are the belly photos for the week Braden wanted in on one this time too. Yes, he is pantless, but he does have his big boy underwear on! Enjoy!

29 weeks

Here I am at 29 weeks. My belly is getting bigger week by week. I am having Travis take pictures of me each week so we can keep track of how big I actually get.
