Abacus No More

2 Christmas' ago Braden received an Abacus from his Grandmother. The minute we brought it home one peg fell out and it was put into the closet with the rest of the stuff to be fixed. Well, this morning he found it and decided to do other things with it. He used the pegs to make letters and words and the balls became balls to play pool with. This kid has such an imagination! Here are some pictures. He wrote the word "hi" with the pegs and the other picture is just of all the balls and pegs scattered across our bedroom floor.

Baby update (28 weeks)

It is hard to believe that in less than 3 months we will have 2 little boys to care for and love. My pregnancy is going just smoothly. The baby is sitting very low and he is killing my back, but other than that I am doing great! We had another ultrasound yesterday (Feb 24) and will continue to have one every month. I am considered high risk because of his single umbilical condition. No problem though he is doing just fine. He's growing right on track and kicks like a soccer player. The doctor even told me I will probably have him early (yay!!!). Here are some pictures both inside and out. The ultrasound pictures are of the baby's profile and then him looking at us. You can see his cheek and chin and then his hand is up in front of the other side of his face.

Bubble Fun in February

Saturday, Feb 21, turned out to be a pretty warm day here in East Tn. Nay-Nay brought all 3 boys spill proof bubbles and we took advantage of the day! The boys had a blast blowing bubbles into the wind and chasing them. Braden had more fun blowing bubbles onto people than anything.

He is such a man!

As Braden and I were getting ready to watch The Price is Right (his new favorite show), Braden sits down next to me on the couch and says

"Hey momma, get up"
"Why?"
"Momma, get up and make me some dinner I want to watch TV!"
I have no idea where he got this from. Travis doesn't talk to me that way (he'd be dead if he did). I just looked at Braden told him that his lunch was on the table next to him and that it is not nice to demand things from people; if he was hungry he needs to ask nicely for momma to get him something.
What a man!!! (this will be nipped in the bud before too long.

Baking Brownies for Dada's Birthday

Yesterday, February 17, was Travis' birthday. Braden and I decided to make him his favorite brownies, Ghiradelli Turtle, instead of a cake this year. Braden helped with pouring in the oil, the water, and even with stirring. When everything was mixed in he asked if he could taste it and I let him take a taste off of the spoon. He then was more than happy to lick the spoon, the spatula (after I scraped all of the batter into the pan) and eventually the bowl. He told me that it was very good and that we had done a good job. Happy Birthday Dada!!!!

The Growing Belly!

I decided I needed some belly pictures on here so I took some myself. They are a little up close, but hopefully I will have some full body ones later. I'll get Travis to take them for me. I am 26 weeks along now. We still do not have a name, but we have some ideas. Just like we did with Braden we will let everyone know his name after he is born.

Something else to do with bowling pins

Braden was playing with his "little tiny bowling set" and the next thing I knew he was calling for me to come and see what he made. I turned around and there he was proud as anything with his bowling pins that he had made into a question mark and the number seven. Here are a few pictures of his creations.

It snowed . . . again!

Well, it snowed again! This time it was enough to make snowballs and a snowman. While Braden pelted us with snowballs, Dada, Pop, and I made a snowman; Braden named him Archer. Braden loved the snow and boy did it show!!!

Potty Time!

For the past month or so we have really been cracking down on getting Braden potty trained. This morning while waiting to "go" he asked for one of Dada's books. I handed him a Sports Illustrated and couldn't resist the opportunity to take a picture. He was really into it too!

Super Bowl '09

February started off with a BIG football game. The Pittsburgh Stealers vs. The Arizona Cardinals. Pittsburgh came away with the win. During Half Time NBC had a special preview of a new Dreamworks movie coming out later this summer. It was in 3-D, so area stores gave out free 3-D glasses. Here's what Travis, Michael, Elaine, Joseph, and Joanna looked like in their 3-D glasses. I took the picture so you won't be seeing me in them.
