37 week update

Well today we went for our 37 week check up. Things are going great! Baby Allen #2 weighs about 6 lbs. 5 oz right now. I am having non-stress tests every week to make sure he is doing well. Also, the ultrasound today went well too. Baby Allen #2 is kicking and moving along just fine. We scheduled the c-section for Thursday, May 14. Travis and I had 3 choices on the date and we didn't really care which day it was, so we just let Braden pick the day that he liked.
I have to be at the hospital around 6 am and he should be here between 8 / 8:30 am. So I will post something as soon as the drugs wear off. Here are the pictures of my growing belly for the week.

1st Wee Ball Game

Braden had his first wee ball game today. He actually got out on the field, and hit the ball. No fuss!!!! He did however not want to wear his team shirt or his cleats. Oh well, at least he got on the field!!!! Here are some of the photos from the game. Maybe next Saturday I can get him into his shirt and pants. Although he does have team pictures Thursday, so that will be fun.

Playgroup at the Park

Today a few of us from playgroup met at Nicholas Ball Park in Knoxville for a day of fun and a free show. Braden had a blast playing with his friends Ethan, Evan, and Ava. They all ran around playing and laughing. Then all of a sudden we had to stop playing around and have a snack because the mulching crew arrived with a dump truck of mulch to add to the playground. The kids were fine with it, they got to watch for free! Big trucks and a scooper, cool!!!! Fun was had by all and while they watched us moms took the opportunity to photograph the kids. We were there for almost 3 hours in the sun and enjoyed every minute of it.

Update : Week 36

Well, here we are, week 36 and still counting. I went to the doctor this morning and all is well with Baby Allen #2. He is growing nicely and my belly is measuring right on track. I only gained a pound in the past week, which is good. I'm very proud of myself this time around. With Braden I gained about 40 lbs. and with this one I've only gained about 20 - 30 lbs. YAY, less to work off in the end. While at the doctor's office I had a non-stress test. This is where they have 2 monitors on your belly, 1 to measure any contractions of you were to have one, and the second to measure the baby's heart beat. Little baby Allen #2 decided to play around for a while so it took twice as long for them to preform the test. Also, while I was hooked up to the the machine I had a HUGE contraction. I felt it, but it didn't hurt, it was just very tight. Who knows when the little guy will show his face? Will he be early or late like his big brother? My next doctor's appointemnt is for next Tues., April 28, Pop's birthday.

A very belated, yet happy birthday

Well, we were a little late celebrating and all, but Elijah is officially 7 years old!!! His birthday was April 8, but because of illnesses and scheduling we were late in getting to celebrate it with him. Nay-Nay made brownie sundaes for everyone after we sang Happy Birthday to him. Everyone had a nice time and left with full tummies. Happy 7th Birthday Elijah!!!

Trumpet Practice

Braden has a new talent. Pop bought Braden a toy trumpet for Christmas and he is just now starting to get into it. I had it put up for a while to keep it from being shared by cousins and when we were cleaning the house to get ready for the new baby we found it. Braden fell in love again! He has been playing it nonstop ever since. I think he inherited talent from both Travis and I. Travis, baseball (sports), and me music. He's very well rounded.

35 week update

Today was my 35 week appointment. All is well with baby Allen #2. He is growing right on track, measuring right at around 5 - 5 1/2 lbs. We also had an ultrasound done and the little guy is running out of room so his face is a little hard to make out in the picture. I will be scheduling my c-section for sometime during the week of May 11 very soon.

Easter with the Allen's!

Easter Sunday afternoon we spent the day / evening with Travis' family. Braden and Abby had a fun time together running in the yard, dancing, and hunting for eggs. Grandma and Grandpa brought Easter baskets for the kids filled with candy and other goodies. Yummy! After we had a nice dinner of ham, green bean casserole, rolls, potato salad, deviled eggs, and corn the kids were off to hunt the eggs. They had way too much fun. Braden passed out on the way home within 5 to 10 minutes in the car. Happy Easter!

Easter with the McCarthy's!

Saturday, April 11, evening we celebrated Easter with my family. The boys hunted for their Easter Baskets that the Easter Bunny hid for them at Nay- Nay and Pop's house. We had a nice dinner with ham, asparagus, rolls, mac and cheese, potatoes, and then pumpkin pie for dessert (Elijah loves pumpkin pie). After dinner Travis and I hid all 39 Easter eggs filled with candy. The boys went nuts! They were each allowed to find 13 eggs, so they were running around the front yard like little maniacs. They had a blast!

First Wee Ball Practice

Saturday, April 11, Braden had his first wee ball practice. He was not happy about it at all once we got there. I think with all the parents standing around and the other kids he was shy and got really scared. He cried the entire time and refused to go out on the field with the other kids and hit the ball or even catch. Travis and I were thinking something seriously was wrong with our kid. He LOVES to hit the ball! Well, once everyone else went to have snack Braden decided he wanted to hit the ball. This was perfectly fine with his coach, so Braden and Dada, along with a friend of Dad's from high school who's son is also on the team, hit and fielded the ball for about 15 to 20 min. Hopefully the next practice will be much better.

34 weeks, almost there!

Today is week 34 for baby #2. Tonight a group of us from my Moms & Tots playgroup went out to dinner for a baby shower / final night out. There are 2 of us that are due within a week of each other and then one of our other moms had her baby around Christmas, so with the holidays we passed her by. So tonight we celebrated! We have another mom due in Aug. so we will get to her later in the summer. Here are the weekly pictures of my ever growing belly. Braden wanted to have his belly picture taken too, so here you go.

Baby Shower

Sunday, April 5, Mom and Mary gave me a small baby shower with friends and family. Baby #2 received some very nice gifts and tons of love. His room will be fully furnished and he will be smelling oh so sweet from all of the lovely baby bath washes. Thank you to everyone who came and I hope you had a fun time. Here are some pictures from the festivities. We have bibs from Grandma (Travis' mom) and the blanket and toy is from Nay-Nay (my mom).
